 2008 SOMENOS ROSE $17.00
The 2008 Rose is A blend of Marechal Foch, Pinot Noir and Merlot, cold  fermented at 12 C. This wine has a bright pink colour with a sweet  candy-apple, strawberry nose. The palate is alive with rich fruit  flavors and finishes with  clean fresh acidity. A lovely summer sipper!
2008 PINOT GRIS $20.00
The 2008 Pinot Gris was fermented and aged in neutral French oak barriques with 60% of the batch having gone through malo-lactic fermentation. In the glass, the wine is pale straw in colour. The nose is an elegant blend of juicy ripe apple fruit and
creamy lees with soft honeysuckle and vanilla notes. On the palette, tropical flavors of pineapple, papaya and sweet citrus mingle with zesty minerality and refreshing acid to produce a lingering well balanced finish. The wine has great ageing potential and is the perfect companion to strongly flavored seafood such as salmon, crab and halibut.
2009 PINOT GRIGIO $18.00
The stainless steel fermentation allows Averill Creek to catch the true terroir of the vineyard. The wine is pale straw in colour with bright green highlights. The nose is very Granny Smith apples with citrus flavours and hints of lychee. There is a sharp fruity entry with a round middle palate and a crisp finish.
  PINOT NOIR 2008 $26.00
The 2008 Pinot Noir is the product of one of the most difficult years in the Cowichan Valley weather wise. Our spring was very late and the heat units, sparse. Following 11 months of ageing in 2 to 4 year old French oak barriques the finished wine is dark ruby in color. The nose is fragrant with layers of dried cherry, plum and violets, opening to overtones of smoke, leather and soft clove spice. On the palette flavors of wild strawberry and raspberry give way to an earthy minerality with hints of  tobacco and orange zest. The finish is long and elegant. The Pinot Noir continues to develop in the bottle, promising a lengthy future.
 2008 COWICHAN BLACK $18.00
This wine is made from 100% Vancouver Island blackberries, and is naturally fermented to 16% alcohol. It is a dark purple colour with a massive very berry nose. The palate is a luscious mouthful of sweet blackberries complemented by a big smooth finish with just a hint of acidity.
 2009 Gewürztraminer $18.00
2009 was a great year that let Gewürztraminer shine. We finally picked good volumes of fully ripe fruit. The wine is stainless steel fermented. The colour is pale green-gold. The nose shows classic Gewürztraminer aromas with lychee, tropical fruit and peaches predominating and hints of butterscotch and leather. There is a solid entry with tropical fruit dominating the middle palate. The wine has a long clean acidic finish. This wine will surprise as it does not have high residual sugar and is refreshing and balanced.
Foch-eh $18.00
This all Canadian wine was made by carbonic maceration. The whole bunches were kept under Co2 for two weeks then the juice was pressed off and cold fermented. The colour produced is a deep, dark purple with overtones of magenta. The nose explodes out of the glass with strong aromas of cherries and plums. The flavours are matched in the mouth with lots of robust fruit evident in the middle palate. The finish is long and satisfying with well balanced acidity. Serve this wine slightly chilled for fine summer quaffing.
